The City of Joy has cooled down with continuous downpours but the tech world is steaming with companies trying to get a toe-hold in the next big wave, the cloud computing. Stories about cloud computing have been going on for years but the real action begins now. Dell and HP are fighting it out over 3Par. 3Par, a firm dealing in businesses related to clouds has suddenly seen a stunning increase in its share prices. Jayant gets to the bottom to make things clearer.
Technology has changed the landscape of urban India but had treated its rural cousins mostly with disdain till recent times. Mobiles are changing the face of rural India only now. But is that only the beginning of a deeper transformation. The cover story by Mr. Kushankur and Mr. Debasish, two Fellows at IRMA, deals with the opportunities and challenges for technology in rural India.
Google, the ‘do-no-evil’ company seems to change its stance on net neutrality. The original champion of free net is eyeing deals with Verizon to restrict net neutrality.
