Dear Readers
Warm Greetings from Techtonix.
August stands for rains and more rains in Kolkata. Snuggled with our laptops or running barefoot in the rains is a wonderful feeling. Tea and technology can be great companions at this time of the year even if you prefer outdoors over indoors.
July was much in news because of problems in Apple’s iPhone 4. The tech universe was much agog with the news of Apple’s difficulty. Steve Jobs was trying all the tricks in his bag to salvage the instrument. Our very own Mr. Kapil Sibal surprised us by sprouting hopes of a $35 laptop. We sincerely hope that this does not remain one of the umpteen promises (just promises) which the governments makes to fool its citizenry.
Animation is the stuff of dreams but actualized on screens. The west has taken the form to great heights. What are we the Indians doing about our creating our own Shreks and the Avatars? Special thanks to Abhra for taking us inside the animation industry. Branding can pose a challenge for the IT industry as there are less points of differentiation between the major players. How can they try and retain talent by using branding? The article on branding tries to go deeper into these issues.
This August the Indian state will complete 63 years of independence. India is said to have taken immense strides towards development but sadly, a greater majority still remains excluded from the spotlight. Even new age technology has not brought them much to cheer about. But surely the potential for progress is immense. An amalgamation of fresh policies and their effective implementation with technology to aid them would help channelize our potential towards the path of inclusive growth and progress.
What can happen in the life of an ordinary man on an ordinary day? See our parting note for more.
Team Techtonix extends a warm welcome to all the new members on board. We’ve also come up with a new logo and look & feel. Hope you like the new Techtonix.
Happy Independence Day.
